Arts Education

Arts Education at WUSD is dedicated to providing quality, equitable, and accessible arts education for all TK-12 students. Students engage in standards-based arts education with arts specialists and through arts integrated into their daily curriculum. Our VAPA program is a regional, state, and nationally recognized leader in Arts Integration and Career Technical Education (Arts, Media, and Entertainment).

Grade Level Arts Education

  • TK-5 students participate in concentrated arts integration in their classes including music and visual arts. 3-5 grade students receive weekly music instruction with a credentialed music specialist.

  • 6-12 grade students may enroll in arts electives with credentialed specialists in visual arts, theatre arts, music, and media arts. 9-12 grade students may enroll in dance and music electives with a credentialed specialist.

  • Cores and Focus Areas at Windsor High School allow students to enjoy arts-focused education. 10th grade students may enroll in the Arts, Media, and Entertainment (AME) core & 11-12 grade students may enroll in Nueva School of the Arts or the Areté Media Academy.
