Coaching Stipend Schedule: Agreed to add Flag football stipend to coaching stipend schedule. Will go to board for approval.

WUSD–WDEA CONFIDENTIAL NEGOTIATIONS BRIEF
March 26, 2025

Agreement: We signed a confidentiality agreement (see above)

Calendar Discussion: We are working through items that will affect the calendar.  

Retirement: Discussion of benefit options

 

PLT: Discussion of options for scheduling PLT within the school day.  

 

WMS Bell Schedule: We have a tentative agreement on the WMS Bell Schedule

 

Wages: Opened some wage discussion

WUSD and WDEA have agreed to maintain confidentiality throughout the negotiation process. This brief reflects ongoing collaborative efforts and is intended to support open communication while honoring our mutual commitment to confidentiality.

CSEA Negotiations Brief

Article 3: Wages

  • Discussed use of carryover 1% to revise salary schedule structure.
     
  • Explored shortening longevity steps and intervals to align more closely with certificated schedule.
     
  • Costing analysis initiated by Austin; updates to be reviewed in future meetings.
     
  • “Me too” language with WDEA discussed.
     
  • Updated salary schedule to be previewed by April 7 and reviewed at next meeting.
     

Article 5: Benefits

  • Addressed challenges in retaining staff due to benefits affordability.
     
  • Scheduled FSA and HSA informational session with Mike Wittingham for union meeting on February 19, 2025.
     
  • Authorization for benefits discussions pending.
     

Article 6: Leaves

  • Revisions to leave usage rules discussed; Option 1 to include clarification on use of days before the 6th month.
     
  • Additional language regarding Personal Necessity (PN) and sick leave added.
     
  • March 12, 2025: Option 2 for leaves approved.
     
  • MOU to be drafted and provided by Joseph.
     

Article 15: Layoffs & Bumping

  • Discussed bumping procedures for Instructional Aides (IAs), Paraprofessionals, and other classifications.
     
  • Decision to maintain current contract language.
     
  • Effects bargaining to occur on a case-by-case basis.
     
  • Coordination with site administrators to determine impact and logistics.
     
  • Template for annual bumping report to be completed post-Spring Break.
     

CSEA Professional Development (PD)

  • Legal review pending on use of leave grant days for PD.
     
  • Potential calendar adjustments to be coordinated with district admin.
     
  • Determination of full-day vs. hourly PD needs to inform draft.
     
  • Draft PD proposal to be shared with CSEA as soon as possible.
