Nation-wide Student walk-out Notification

Dear Parents/Guardians of WUSD Students,

The District is aware of plans for nationwide student “walkouts” on March 14th to protest gun violence.

District employees will be directing students not to leave the school premises during school hours and will be enforcing school rules and regulations, which are necessary for student safety and protection.  However, schools will not be blocking school exits and entrances to prevent students from leaving school.

The District is, however, working with its middle schools and high school to provide alternative opportunities to students to exercise their freedom of speech, if they so choose, in a non-disruptive way.  Information is being distributed from each middle school and high school site.

The District’s main concern is to maintain safety and security on each school campus.

If students leave campus during instructional time, parents will be notified that their child has left school and the need for them to retrieve their child.

Thank you for your review of this information.

High School Cheer Nationals

The Windsor High School Cheer team has long had a reputation for excellence in both local and national competition, and that high standard was upheld last month on America’s biggest stage.
The Jaguars posted a high score of 96.3 at the JAMZ High School Cheer Nationals on Feb. 22-23 in Las Vegas, a performance that earned them a coveted first-place trophy.
In addition to their divisional title, Windsor was also crowned as the Overall Grand Champion of Stunts, placing first out of a pool of more than 100 teams. For their efforts, the team was awarded the prize of $1,000.
